Read the story as text

Two young explorers visit the Hill of Tara in County Meath. Their guide shows them the Mound of the Hostages, a burial tomb built about 5,000 years ago.

Later, Tara became a royal ceremonial place linked with Ireland’s High Kings. Its grassy banks and earthworks are clues to its past.

On the hill stands the Lia Fáil, also called the Stone of Destiny. In Irish legend, the Tuatha Dé Danann brought a magical stone to Ireland. The stone was said to roar when the rightful king touched it.

The standing stone is real. Its magical roar belongs to the legend. Tara holds thousands of years of memories, and we can help protect it. Let’s take home stories, not stones!
